Los primeros días del año fueron difíciles para mi.. todo el mundo parecía tener listo un plan de acción! Un plan para ser una nueva persona en este 2019, y el paso a paso de cómo hacerlo. Automáticamente empecé a pensar qué voy a hacer yo? Que quiero hacer y como voy a hacerlo? Estaba en Madrid en los últimos días de un viaje familiar con un poco de ansiedad de volver a la realidad y el último día del viaje antes de ir al aeropuerto salí muy temprano por la mañana por un encargo. Al llegar a la tienda estaba cerrada y para hacer tiempo entré a una tienda que se llama “& other stories” que la verdad no la conocía. En la nueva colección encontré un pantsuit naranja que me encantó, cogí mi talla y estando en el probador pensé.. fuera perfecto para un NYFW. Right there! Ahí estaba.. mi primera meta del año.
La visualicé en el espejo y era todo lo que necesitaba para proponérmelo. Lo compré y me prometí a mi misma que no lo usaría hasta después de 6 semanas en NYFW. Honestamente a partir de eso no sabia por donde empezar, durante dos años le puse pausa a mi vida y a mi carrera dedicándome 100% a mi familia, a cuidar de mi papá que estaba enfermo, a reencontrar mi camino y hasta cierto punto a reencontrarme a mi misma después de todo este tiempo. No ha sido nada fácil.
Empecé por hacer una lista de todos mis conocidos en la industria tanto locales como internacionales que pudieran ayudarme a conseguir invitaciones para los desfiles pero esto tomaría un tiempo. Así que con ojos cerrados compré mi pasaje, reservé un hotel y seguí moviéndome para adelante con la planificación, haciendo un calendario con todos los shows a los que me hubiera gustado asistir. El siguiente paso fue empezar a planear mis looks (por supuesto el orange suit fue el primero en la maleta!) Hubo una mezcla de cosas mías o que compre para el viaje, con diseñadores ecuatorianos, latinoamericanos al igual que internacionales como LONGCHAMP de quienes recibí una chaqueta y una cartera para usar para el desfile! Finalmente unos pocos días antes de mi viaje me contactaron de American Express de Banco Guayaquil para confirmarme el patrocinio para mi viaje! En cuestión de 3 días, el equipo de mercadeo, administrativo y financiero trabajaron en conjunto para gestionar mi tarjeta que llegó justo a tiempo y activada para el viaje!
Tener este respaldo y la seguridad de contar con una tarjeta de este prestigio no solo para todos mis consumos sino para cualquier necesidad, fue una tranquilidad! Y así llegue a New York!! The first days of the year where difficult for me! Everyone seemed to have everything figured out, a plan to be a new person in 2019, and the step by step of how to do it. Automatically I started thinking what am I going to do? What do I want to do and how am I going to do it? I was in Madrid on the last few days of a family trip, with a bit of anxiety about going back to reality. On the last day before going to the airport, I went out to buy something for my mother in law. When I arrived at the store it was closed so I went in to the store next to it called “& other stories”. In the new collection I found an orange pantsuit that I loved, I took my size and I was in the fitting room when I thought .. it would be perfect for a NYFW. Just there! There IT was … my first goal of the year. That was all I needed to visualize my goal. So I bought it and promised myself that I would not use it until NYFW. Honestly I didn’t know where to start.. for two years I paused my life and career, dedicating myself 100% to my family, to take care of my dad who was sick, so rediscovering my path and to a certain extent reencountering myself after all this time has not been easy.
So I started by making a list of all my friends and contacts in the industry both local and international that could help me get invitations for the fashions shows but this would take a while. So with my eyes closed I bought a ticket, booked a hotel and kept moving forward with the planning, making a calendar with all the shows that I would have liked to attend. The next step was to start planning my looks (of course the orange suit was the first in the suitcase!) There was a mix of things that I bought for the trip or borrowed from Ecuadorian, Latin American and international designers like LONGCHAMP from whom I received a jacket and a bag to wear for their show! Finally a few days before my trip I was contacted by American Express of Banco Guayaquil to confirm the sponsorship for my trip! In a matter of 3 days, the marketing, administrative and financial team worked together and managed to get my credit card ready and activated just in time for my trip!
